The Absence of Alice #8

Bioart | Video | Mixed Media

The Contamination of Alice, refers collectively to a series of individual works originally inspired by the experience of the artist’s Saos-2 cell cultures becoming contaminated by a fungus while working in the laboratory at IHBI in 2009.

The latest instance within the series, commissioned for Experimenta Recharge connects to origins of the Saos-2 cell line, laboratory experiences and notions of becoming, transformation and the interconnections between organism and environment.
