I am delighted to announce that I have just been offered an artist-in-residence role at UQ working on an interdisciplinary project across architecture and interaction design. Indeed, this collaborative undertaking brings together five organisations across UQ, including the Schools of Architecture (Kim Baber and John de Manincor), Information Technology & Electrical Engineering [ITEE] (Ben Matthews and Stephen Viller), Music (Eve Klein), The Queensland Brain Institute [QBI] (Luke Hammond) and the UQ Art Museum (Allison Holland).
The project was initiated by UQ Art Museum as a part of broader program to engage UQ students and academics in a creative nexus of the arts, science and environment. As part of the project, I will work with staff and students from the School of Architecture and the Multimedia and Interaction Design program, as well as Luke Hammond from QBI and composer Eve Klein to produce a dynamic interactive environment within a large-scale architectural pavilion.
The residency will run from 17 July 2015 and culminate with the display of the prototype pavilion in November 2015. There is also the exciting possibility that the project will extend beyond this time with exciting opportunities to showcase the pavilion at The Australia Pacific Architecture Forum in March 2016
